==Overview==
*The UMC Charity is continuing to offer the donation matching program to each of our shareholders. They have until December 31st of each year to make a donation to their favourite charity and we will match it – up to $1,000!
*Please note that the Canadian Charity MUST be registered. In order for the matching donation to occur by UMC Charity, the charity must indicate on their charity receipt a number that has a sequence of numbers such as this: #11111 2222 RR0001.

==The Process==
*Each store that donates a total of $1,000 to various registered Canadian charities will be matched by UMC Charity. For example, if they wish to donate $100 to their local hospice, $300 to their local SPCA shelter, etc to a grand total of $1,000, we will match each individual registered charity they make.
*The donations must take place in the current calendar year (January to December) and a copy of the registered charity receipt must be forwarded to Teresa Bruce [mailto:teresab@unipharm.com Teresa Bruce] no later than March 31st of the following year in order for the donation matching to occur.
*The receipt MUST be in the Store's name (or corporate name), not in a personal name. This applies to each store they own. So, if they own more than one store, each store is entitled to donate $1,000 each.
*To make it easier, we have designed and attached a form for each shareholder to fill out with the donations they have made for the year (January to December).
*Once they have reached the maximum of $1,000, have the shareholder fax the form, along with the registered charity receipt to Teresa Bruce [mailto:teresab@unipharm.com Teresa Bruce] or call her at 604-276-5255.
*We will then process the matching donation and provide the shareholder with a copy of the letter that is sent to the charity.
*The UMC Charity Board of Directors feels it is really important to support the local community and its charities. By participating in this program their favourite charity will be getting twice as much!
