GMP testing is an annual event. To set up a new round of testing, last year's course can be cloned. This is the recommended method as it maintains consistency in the course layout, while also omitting any history/activity of the course being cloned.

==Instructions for cloning a course==

This will use the example scenario of setting up a new year/instance of GMP testing.

* Create a new course by navigating to '''Courses -> Manage courses and categories''' under the Site Administration tab. You must have Teacher/Manager-level permissions.

* Conventionally, the course name is GMP Testing 2xxx, and the short name is GMP2k'''xx'''.
* (Optional), set a course start date. This is just so that the course is not visible to users until you have finished setting it up.
* (Optional) Under the '''Role renaming''' tab, change '''Teacher''' to '''Manager''' and '''Student''' to '''Staff/Test taker'''.
* Enter the course once it has been created. One way to do this is by going back to the 'Manager courses and categories' page, clicking into the course, and clicking '''View'''.

* Under the '''Course administration''' tab, click Import.
* Select the course to be imported (e.g. last year's test), and follow the wizard through. This will copy the course modules, but omit user activity (grades, attempts etc.).
* At this point, the course is set up. Before deploying to staff, enroll the users, make sure the course is active (start date), and set up any groups necessary.
