This page is a placeholder of sorts to discuss the server FP-SRV-01 will become. It should be restructured once the server is in place.

FP-SRV-01 is a server VM running Windows Server 2012 R2. It's purpose is to replace Superserver as the file and printer services server (network shares and network printers). Superserver has the following shortcomings:

* Printer drivers and names are outdated. Moreover, some printer shares utilize the universal driver, while others utilize printer-specific drivers. Usually you choose one or the other.
* File shares do not use DFS
* Server OS is 2008 R2, which is end-of-support.

Because the plan is to implement DFS, FP-SRV-01 will be complemented by a FP-SRV-02.
