Laser printers, depending on their location and purpose (i.e. general office, picking station etc.), are set up to accommodate these various ways of printing:

* Printing from a PC application (i.e. Microsoft Word)
* Printing from an RF gun
* Printing from "the system" (i.e. ASW or green-screen).

==Printer setup for Windows printing==

Laser printers (i.e. Lexmark or Xerox) are set up as shared network printers on Superserver. Here are the general steps to configuring a new printer.

* Set a static IP on the printer.
* Create a hostname, and register the DNS record in Active Directory.
* Configure a network (TCP/IP) printer share on Superserver, using the DNS name as the port. Use the existing printer shares to glean the naming convention. Use one of the existing drivers if applicable (alternatively, install one).
* Test the printer share from a client PC. (Instead of adding it via "Add Printer", try connecting to it via Windows Explorer (it should be browseable in the superserver share root).
