Printing from IBM i

There are two ways printers are set up on IBM i. The first uses Remote Out Queues, the second uses Device Descriptions.

Excellent IBM documentation on how to configure printers: https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1019492

Remote out queues (RMTOUTQ)

The name is self-explanatory. Instead of "writing" to a local OUTQ on the IBM i, a file can be sent to a printer set up as a remote OUTQ.
