There is a user defined field for items (in file ITUSDAP) that indicates writable narcotics. These are drugs that must have a chain of signature. After they are picked, a narcotics control form is printed, placed in the box with them, and added to file NCHEADP (NSC - Narcotics Control Form Header Record).
If it is a local shipment (sent via Atlas Courier), warehouse staff will print a chain of signature report, which lists all the controlled narcotics given to each driver, and have them sign to acknowledge receipt.
When the narcotics are received at the pharmacy, the pharmacist signs the form to acknowledge receipt, and sends it back to us. Customer service changes the status of the form in NCHEADP to scanned and confirmed, scans it into Gauss, then files it.
