Overview
- Through the Query group enquiry which makes it possible to view totals of different balances on accounts and summary identities based on your selection.
- Defining a query group allows you to “save’ your most relevant enquiry scenario and retrieve the current values from the database at any time.
- You are also allowed to make ad hoc enquiries using a temporary query group.
- The result from your balance enquiry may be analyzed on two different levels:
- The first level is a total of an account combination displayed per period.
- The second level displays the detailed transactions that build up your balances.
Working with Query Group
- Under Enquiries (blue side panel)
- Select Balances and budgets or select Enquiries
- Type Balances under search argument and click enter
- Mark Balances and budgets and click enter
- Select Query Groups or click F8 to reach the panel where you can run a query group
- Select Maintain Group or click F8 to Maintain Query Group
- Select add (left side blue panel) or click F8 to define a new query group
- Enter Group (this is the name you will refer to when you want to run the query group)
- Enter Description of your choice for the query group
- Click enter
Query Group Maintenance - Periods and Values
- Enter period range
- Enter key (enter the keys you want for this query group) The first key in every sequence must also be the first key in the query group.
- Tip: Click F8 to view the keys from which you may choose.
- Enter Key value
- Tip: Click F1 to view the length and type for the keys you have selected.
- Click enter
- Click F12 to move back to previous panel(s) (Note: may need to hit F12 twice)
- Mark the Query group you want to use and click enter
- Click F10 to drill down to access information on a more detailed level
- The Open bal is for the first period selected
- The Total is a summation of the opening balance and the selected periods value.
- Mark one of your account combinations to view your transactions and click enter
- The system will then display the transactions that build up the balance
- Click F6 or F7 if you want to toggle between columns
- Tip: Click F1 to position yourself in the sub-totals
- Select Quick Groups (left side blue panel) or click F9 to reach the panel where you can run a quick group
- Enter period range

- Enter Key value
- Tip: Click F1 to view the length and type for the keys you have selected.
