Overview

Any changes to the Carried Forward amount in an employee's HCSA has to be changed by Equitable Life. The administrator is only able to change the current year's HCSA allocation and to update participation.

Contact

  • If you need to request a change, email Equitable Life at vancouvergroupinbox@equitable.ca and explain the situation and request a change to the Carried Forward amount.

Changing Current Year HCSA

  1. Log into Equitable Life, click 'Certificate' then enter the 'last name' of the employee.
  2. Double-click 'Health Care Spending Account'

Update Parciipation

  1. If the employee changes coverage from 'Single' to 'Family', change the 'effective date',
  2. Change Family Category to 'Family'
  3. Select the 'Override Reason'
  4. Click 'Save'

Update Allocation

  1. If the employee's HCSA allocation amount has to be changed, manually calculate the 'current year HCSA allocation' (150 or 300 divided by the number of remaining days).
  2. Enter the 'new allocation amount'
  3. Select the 'Override Reason'
  4. Click 'Save'
