Overview
- With the asset split function, you can split an asset for partial disposal or for any other reason.
- You can split a single asset several times and new assets can be created from the split one.
- The split function divides the remaining balance for an asset.
- You can split an asset by percentage, acquisition amount or quantity (quantity can only be used on the basis for a split provided that quantity has been entered in field asset quantity on panel Basic information)
- When splitting an asset, you can either leave the remaining amount on the original asset or direct the remaining part towards a new asset, in which case you will no longer be able to work with the original asset.
- When an asset is split, the following applies:
-The depreciation transactions for the original asset are updated -The asset acquisition amount and accumulated depreciation amount is distributed according to the selected split basis (acquisition value, asset quantity or percentage) -Asset quantity is distributed provided that asset quantity was used as the basis for the split.
- Note: an asset cannot be split if it is included in a disposal proposal, an update depreciation proposal, an account movement proposal or an inventory list.
Asset Split
- Click Asset Management→Asset management financial tasks→Disposal tasks→Work with split.
- Enter Asset for Split
- Enter Remaining on asset (if remaining asset is to be created into new asset)
- Enter Split basis
- Click enter and warning will appear "Today's date used as split date"
- Click enter to confirm
- Click perform split (left side blue panel)
- Click enter
- Click F12
