IFS User Disabled

If, when trying to sign onto the IFS, the user sees this they have been disabled.

File:technical-1.jpg

Use iSeries Navigator to enable a disabled iSeries NetServer user. Note: You need *IOSYSCFG and *SECADM authority to enable a disabled user profile this way.

From iSeries Navigator, expand system > Network > Server.
Click TCP/IP to view the list of TCP/IP servers available.
Right-click iSeries NetServer and select Open.
Click File in upper left corner.
On the pull-down menu, select Disabled User IDs.
Click a disabled user ID and select Enable User ID.

Log on remotely when qinter is ended

The first choice would be the HMC HardWare Management Console.

The second choice would be iSeries Navigator.

- Under My Connections, open: Bart.unipharm.com / Work Management / Subsystems

- Right-click on Active subsystems, click on Start subsystem.

- Enter QINTER, QSYS.

Log onto a green screen as usual.

TO PREVENT USERS FROM LOGGING ON WHILE THE SYSTEM IS UNSTABLE:

Call SHEILA/TRANSFER to move your active session to QCTL.

End QINTER.

Encrypt Cost with PATHFINDER

For the convenience of our shareholders and customers, the price they pay for an item is printed on the price tickets. But it is encrypted so that their customers can’t read it.

This is done by replacing the numbers with the corresponding letters from a key word. This word has to be ten characters long, with no repeating letters.

All shareholders and customers are setup, by default, to use the word ‘PATHFINDER’. Currently, one shareholder (Valley Evergreen), is using ‘MELBORACIS’.

This is setup in partner user defined fields, under ‘COST ENCRY’. If this is not setup, or is blank, cost will not print on the price tickets.

For example, a cost of 14.62 would show as PHNA.

Check Digit Validation

This a way to detect keying errors, and transposed digits. A mathematical calculation is done on the number, and if the result is not the expected value, the number is not valid. We use this on our item number, and manufactures use it on their UPC and EAN numbers.

UWD Item Numbers

When a new item is created, program DMRUT1 is called to generate the item number. It gets the next available seven digit number from the ASW number series table.

Then it calculates and appends the check digit. The routine used is ‘double add double’, ‘digit add’.

 0 2 4 6 9 2 0 ?
 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 multiply by weights
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
 0 2 8 6 18 2 0 ?

0 + 2 + 8 + 6 + 1 + 8 + 2 + 0 = 27 as this is ‘digit add’ 18 becomes 1 + 8.

The weight of the check digit itself is always one.

The value of the check digit (? In the table above) is the value required to increase the result (27) to a value ending with zero (mod 10) – in this case three.

What this routine actually means is that chances are slim that someone can make a mistake keying in an item number, and come up with a different, valid, number. If a single digit is incorrect, the check digit will not be valid; therefore the number will not match an existing item. At least two digits would have to be incorrect; with a one in ten chance that the second incorrect number will make the check digit correct. Because of the alternating (1 2 1 2) weights the digits are multiplied by, transposing two digits would make an invalid number.

Manufacturer Bar Codes (UPC, EAN)

Manufacturer do the same thing a uniPHARM does, except ‘triple add triple’, ‘product add’.

 0 6 5 6 5 6 0 4 3 7 9 5
 3 1 3 1 3 1 3 1 3 1 3 1
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
 0 6 15 6 15 6 0 4 9 7 27 5

 0 + 6 + 15 + 6 + 15 + 6 + 0 + 4 + 9 + 7 + 27 + 5 = 100 as this is 'product add', 15
                                                            is NOT split into 1 + 5

The weight of the check digit itself is always one.

As 100 ends in zero, this is a valid UPC.

Some codes are printed as, for example, (01)00609038000244. All the digits will scan, but the ones in brackets are not included in the check digit calculation. This is a code 128 bar code - the (01) indicates that the following number is a product code. Our guns are not returning the brackets.

 0 0 6 0 9 0 3 8 0 0 0 2 4 4
 3 1 3 1 3 1 3 1 3 1 3 1 3 1
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
 0 0 18 0 27 0 9 8 0 0 0 2 12 4

0 + 0 + 18 + 0 + 27 + 0 + 9 + 8 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 2 + 12 + 4 = 80

We can use this check digit validation when bar codes are added to an item, to make sure they are entered correctly.

Pharmaceutical – Brand or Generic

Definition

According to Wikipedia –

A brand name drug is a medication sold by a pharmaceutical company under a trademark-protected name. Brand name drugs can only be produced and sold by the company that holds the patent.

For as long as that patent lasts, a brand name company has a monopoly, and can set the price of the drug at a level which will recoup the costs of developing, testing, and marketing that particular drug.

After the patent on a drug expires, any pharmaceutical company can manufacture and sell it; only manufacturing cost will be incurred, which is a small fraction of the costs incurred by the original brand-name company.

The US F.D.A. defines a generic drug as "a drug product that is comparable to a brand/reference listed drug product in dosage form, strength, quality and performance characteristics, and intended use."

A generic drug must contain the same active ingredients as the original formulation. When generic products become available, the market competition often leads to substantially lower prices for both the original brand name product and the generic forms. The time it takes a generic drug to appear on the market varies. In most countries of the world, patents give 20 years of protection.

Prescriptions may be issued for drugs specifying only the chemical name, rather than a manufacturer's name; such a prescription can be filled with a drug of any brand meeting the specification.

Typically, once the generics become available, Pharmacare and other health plans will only cover up to the price of the generic; not the brand.

Identification in uniPHARM’s Item File

Generic items are in either class 003 – Generic Narcotics, or 021 – Generic Pharmaceuticals.

Branded items are in item account group I100 – Pharmaceuticals, not in the two classes above (003 and 021), and are in a particular markup class.

2015Apr01 – RX 8/9.193 2014Apr01 – RX 8/8.665 2010Oct15 – RX 8/10 8/10

We put the markup percentages within the class name to make it easier for us to identify them. Because of that, when rates change, we have to build new classes, and move all the items. This also means the method we use to identify branded items has to be changed.

RF Signon Screen

A version of the signon screen was made with all fields moved to the upper left corner so that it will show on the guns without have to change the portion of the 24 by 80 screen that can be seen on the approximately 17 by 30 guns.

The default signon is QDSIGNON for a 10 character password, and QDSIGNON2 for a 128 character case sensitive password. The sources for these are in qgpl/qddssrc; the compiled objects in QSYS. Do not change these; put a customer library in the system library list, above QSYS, and put a new version there. Do not change the original ones!

The new signon display must have the same fields and lengths as the original, or the original will be used

Short Codes

This was originally in file ITUSDAP (Item level user defined data). When we opened the warehouse in Calgary, we created a new file – ITWHDAP (Item/warehouse user defined data).

To add a new short code –

- Go into ‘Work with UX Extension Tables’, and add to tables ‘UX’ ‘ITEM SHORT’, and ‘AS’ ‘SHORTCODES’.

- Add to the ASW ‘Lost Sales Reason’ table.

- Add to program PLZUT090 (Get short code/descr from item user data)

- Add to IOPOMS01 (Create and send Order Confirmation Message)

- Add to ITEMINFO (Build single file of item information) if a new short code is added that should show the item as inactive.

- Add to IXRIQ777 (Items -- Item Search) if a new short code is added that should show the item as inactive.

- Review IN_VENOS1A, and 2A (Vendor out of stocks for InfoNet)

- Add to WSITMSTS (Get item availability status and price) when getting expected delivery date.

- Also WSITMVAL (Validate item, return avail, price, etc.) when getting expected delivery date.

- Add to PLZUP050 (PLZ -- Reset short code if inventory found) to clear short codes of A (uniPHARM short) or B (manufacturer short) if an item is on hand. This is called every night by EODRPT.
