Description
Starting 2022, Company has started the new Time card system with ADP. The company has provided us with a timeclock to set up in the warehouse for people to punch in and out.
Setup
The Timeclock machine is capable of both Wifi Connections and through ethernet wire and it runs on android. For our environment, we have used to Wifi option so that we can avoid running ethernet wire to it.
The timeclock has a static IP address 172.30.18.43 and can also be reached through timeclock.unipharm.local and it is connected with admin wifi. timeclock also supports VNC unencrypted view to control and help people remotely if needed Password: 2051Drugs+ (Not enabled yet).
For local admin access use PIN 115190 which is set by default. The Timeclock uses the following setting for communication with ADP,
- Communication Mode: Device Initiated
- Device ID: 000001
- Primary Server Password: 0237707809
- Verify Password: 0237707809
- HTTPS (SSL): Yes
- Primary Server IP: 170.146.48.125
- Primary Server Port: 443
- Primary Server Instance ID: 56820
For these settings to work we need to allow HTTPS communication which we do by default.
Known Bug
There is a known bug/weird setting with the static wifi. For setting up static wifi, there are two places, 1. Like any other android while connecting the device under advanced settings in wifi. 2. In device setting/setup page.
It seems like no matter what address you have in option 2., option 1 will always be the dominant (they both don't have to be the same).
For example: If you have 172.30.48.43 in advanced settings in wifi and 172.030.21.156 on the network configuration page, The device will respond to the first one always instead of the second IP. It seems like ADP skin was not doing what it's supposed to do which is to overwrite and make both settings the same.
