Information Systems:Periodic-Purge

We have some large transaction files; as of February 2016 SROLOGGL (G/L Transactions log) is over 100 million records. At one point, we were starting to get tight on disk space, so we starting purging older records from some files. However, not transaction files; we wanted to retain the ability to rebuild a balance file by summarizing transactions.

During month end processing, PURGE01 is called.

Records over two month old (purdate3)

PURGE02    deletes members from POBACKP
PURGE06    calls USDR881 to delete records from USODFLG
