Overview

Some settings of Exchange Online are still only manageable through PowerShell. PowerShell is not only an alternate way of administration, but it seems to be the preferred way, with official documentation often referring to PowerShell commands in its instructions.

Pre-requisites

Note: These instructions are likely to change frequently as PowerShell continues to be upgraded.

To connect to Exchange Online via PowerShell, the EXO V2 (as of 2021-03-29) PowerShell module is required.

Notes

EAC has a shell feature built in (through Azure Cloud Shell), but to go through appears to require Azure Cloud Storage (and the small cost associated with creating a storage blob to store whatever Cloud Shell needs). Regardless the option to use the web shell is shown here as reference: 2021-03-29 11 44 27-Exchange admin center.png
