MSF is the part of the operating system that provides electronic mail distribution (outside of Domino). To see it running, key in WRKACTJOB SBS(QSYSWRK) and press enter. Depending on the jobs running, you may have to press page down. Notice that these jobs are listed in alphabetic order.

When the system comes up after an IPL or a restricted state, three of these servers are started. Check periodically to make sure all three are still running. If not, there are messages that are causing terminal errors. These must be corrected; when there are three error messages, all three servers will abort - meaning no service!
