Programs
Inquiry programs allow you to look at tables and transactions, but not make any changes to them. Other differences (besides making changes) between them and ‘work with’ options and maintenance programs, are that all transactions are shown; not just open ones, and there are more powerful search options.
There are over 400 inquiry programs – the vast majority of which we never use; so there are shortcuts to get to them.
One way is from a command line in ASW; key in 80 and press enter; or press F24 from within an ASW program (if your inquiry template allow it – see the next section for more information).

The function key options you see here will depend on the template associated with your ASW profile (see the next section). I find it more convenient to ignore them, and just press F24 (upper shift F12).

Under ‘Search argument’ key in a description of what you want to see; for example ‘transactions’, or ‘sales orders’.
Another way is to use the inquiry templates.
Templates
Function keys 13 to 24 – within ASW at least – are reserved for inquiry. Which of the over 400 programs each function key will go to is set by the user’s inquiry template.
To see this, look at the ASW user profile. On a command within ASW, key in 81 and press enter.

From within an ASW program (not an extension program!) the user can press any of these function keys to get the related inquiry program. Or press F24 to get any inquiry program. These can be changed to any inquiry the user requires.
The inquiry templates for RF user are restricted to programs that are specifically written for a small screen. ASGR012, which is typically on F24, is deliberately omitted.
