Overview

Anthony Chiam, the Pharmacy Manager at Northview Pharmacy in North Vancouver, and his wife have built a convenient medication search engine at Drug Search that shows us which drugs are covered or not by Pharmacare, under which Pharmacare plan, and if the drug requires Special Authority for coverage (with direct links to the criteria and forms).

Useful Tips

1. To use this search engine the most beneficial web browser would be Google Chrome. Internet Explorer has proven unreliable. 2. This search engine also shows the cost that the patient would be paying based on their Pharmacare plan. This will help reduce pharmacist and prescriber workload and also help reduce cost barriers to patients. 3.There are numerous filters to help patients quickly find the correct product that fits their insurance plan. 4. You can also fill out Special Authority forms straight from your browser if you use Google Chrome.
