Distribution Centre:Customer Returns Freight Charges

Overview

All shareholders are exempt from any returns freight charges. However, Customers will be charged a standard returns freight charge depending on the location of the store. The standard returns freight rates will be updated by the Manager, Distribution when there is an increase or decrease in freight rates provided by Loomis and Atlas Courier.

Finance will no longer reconcile returns freight invoices, with the exception of billing errors in which Finance will make the Manager, Distribution and the freight company aware of the discrepancy.

Returns Freight Charges

• 02009561 (Vancouver Island+Agassiz/Mission/Hope) $15
• 02000057 (Rest of BC & AB) $18
• 02001253 (Yukon, NWT) $40

Procedure

1. Enter the applicable item number above
2. Enter the quantity as a negative (i.e. -1)
3. You will not need to enter the cost but you will need to change the FOC field to 'N' or no amount will appear.

• If you are only charging the freight and there is no returns credit, please enter the freight as a returns adjustment instead of a credit note.

Returns Freight Rate Changes

• The Manager, Distribution will advise the Director of Distribution & Purchasing of any rate changes. The rate changes must be entered in item file maintenance - Sales prices.
