Information Systems:Kofax Installation - Client
Installing Batch Manager and VIP DocView
To install Kofax, use the following path \\scanserver\CaptureSV\WrkInst and install "Setup.exe". Once it is downloaded, use this path \\superserver\UWD Software\Gauss\VIP DocView to install "vipdocview.msi" to install VIP DocView. Please make sure DocView is installed after the Kofax installation for the export connector for DocManager to work correctly.
When installing DocView, make sure to select complete installation to include the export connector. Once DocView is installed, open Kofax admin module, go to Tools>Export Connector>Add. Locate and select VIP ImageCapture.inf. (Use this path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\Capture) Install to register.
Restart Kofax and run a batch to test the export.
More Keys Function in Kofax
As the documents stored in our repository only require one set of data for the documents scanned, more keys function needs to be turned off so the data entered for a particular set of documents do not roll over the same cycle, which is rolling on the same set of data entry on the same document.
To rectify this issue, go to Kofax Capture Administration. Right-click on the batch class and click on "Export Connectors". Double-click the Assigned Export Connector, which in our case is mostly: VIP ImageCapture Release. Check off the More Keys Option. Click on Apply and Ok.
After that, publish the changes made, then run a new batch to test the more keys feature.
When the above steps are done, go to Batch Manager, click the batch where changes were made, and click on "Batch Class Update".
What would more keys do?
When you press TAB after the last index field, instead of going to the next document, the cursor returns to the first index field. This is used to enter the second set of index values.
