Overview

I'm away for a week, here are my notes.

Notes

  • Several shareholder stores have had problems downloading invoices through Assyst. Basically, they cannot see (and thus cannot download) invoices past a certain date. There have been no changes on either end. For some of the stores, regenerating the invoices in question worked, for others it has not. This is an ongoing investigation.
  • Testing of the changes made to AIP/IOP for the Assyst migration to FTP will commence upon my return. I have tested everything I can up to this point without getting Protelo involved. I ran the idea by Sheila and there was nothing major she could think of that I haven't accounted for already, so the only thing left is the testing. Testing will be slightly more difficult because contrary to what I had initially thought, the development libraries are empty i.e. there are no counterpart AIP/IOP programs in PL. Thus the changes to the source will have to be compiled from production libraries into programs objects in the development libraries.
  • The cleanup and changes I made to Serv-U have worked well so far. In the new FTP Logs folder, there are now separate log files for each FTP user account, and I have set each to show passwords. If you recall, I was working on that FTP configuration manager program in Infonet to better manage existing and create new FTP configurations for store POS software. There was previously no way to obtain the passwords for the existing accounts, but the logs now reveal them. I am slowly populating a table/physical file that I created, and this is what will be read by the Infonet program. It is still under heavy development, but can be seen here:

  • A new Gauss batch class was created for narcotic authorization forms. There were several issues (including the accidental deletion of an existing batch class) but everything has since been fixed. This required several days of work looking into previously unexplored issues with Gauss (in my case at least), and it brought to light the need for more wiki documentation regarding the DMS. I will work on this in the future.
  • Zebra maintenance for the RF guns will end on September 21/22. TRG support contract will begin September 20. There is an online portal to submit RMA requests, but the details will be worked out upon my return. Check it out in the meantime here (norwin/visionit):

There are enough serviceable RF guns for the time being.

  • As per Ron's request and an arrangement with a vendor, all uniTV players are airing an ad for a drug. It is a video ad with audio, so stores have reported being startled by the sudden playing of sound on their audio-enabled firmCHANNEL players. Simply go into the GUI, locate their players and edit the system volume to 0. Most don't have a need for audio anyways.
  • GMP Recall notice PDFs posted to unipharm.com will only "work" for shareholders. Because of the recent reworking of the site, customers now have a new portal/dashboard and can see the Recalls e-zine (RSS feed), but the actual PDF is stored in the Shareholders library within the CMS, so customers/non-shareholders have reported being looped back to the login page when trying to access the PDF. This is a limitation of our current CMS.
  • Call Emilio at Mac Rx 2 to see if he wants his email re-enabled.
  • Fooling around: An idea came to mind recently after discovering yet another SQL view that's part of the native OS (as of 7.2): syscolumns. Along with systables (both in library QSYS2), these two views provide powerful insight into our entire database; together, they represent a list of all files and all fields that reside on Bart. Seeing that the general impression of the database is that it's a huge monstrosity and that we only have knowledge about a handful of files, it makes sense that we use these two tables as a reference whenever we want to know what a file does or what a field represents. Of course, you could run an SQL select on qsys2.systables and syscolumns, but since we're about to upgrade WebSmart and the main feature of version 11 is responsive design (i.e. Bootstrap), I decided fiddle around with what could very well be a useful future Infonet page (for I.T.). The skeleton can be found here (where nothing is yet functional): http://172.30.18.10:8151/unidev/in2_dbinfo.pgm# It's built from scratch with WebSmart 11 (client-side only). Check out how it responds to window size changes! For this reason, it's mobile friendly as well (no need to make a mobile version anymore). I intend to convert the few programs I have worked on in the past to this new look, and eventually, all of Infonet.
