Information Systems:Windows 10 Reference Deployment Planning

This article is to document the planning for creating a reference deployment of Windows 10. Eventually, we will consolidate the applications and tasks into a golden image.

Applications to include

  • Mocha TN5250 (registration: UNIPHARM / 040965)
  • Import from config file on superserver. This will activate the program as well as specify settings.

this process is now automated through the GPO

  • ASW GUI
  • Replace JWALK.INI and background image with copies on Superserver
  • IBM Notes

initial configuration of multi user mode is requried setting notes as the default client is requried

  • IBM i Access Client Solutions?
  • Google Chrome
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection

not active as of now

  • FixMe.IT unattended client

this is a manual process

  • MobiControl on laptops (unless we find a better way, then we can cancel the laptops)
  • Lenovo Vantage (System Update replacement)
  • Microsoft Office

this process is now automated , however initially registering/activating is still manually required.

  • SRFax is a manual process and the file is located on the superserver\UWDsoftware
  • the printers do not deploy and must be manually connected , printer shares are available on the superserver

Tasks to perform

  • Uninstall Office 365 trial
